Wow isn't technology great? The internet, computing, smaller and faster. There isn't much now that isn't connected to a computer of some sort. There are mobile Phones with internet connectivity allowing you to check email update, web pages etc...

The humble diary a few years ago even went to the internet. Blogs, they are everywhere in various forms and on just about every topic you can imagine and many more besides! A blog is a simple website that is easy to use and publish your content to. With various mechanisms built in to let people who are interested know that you have just updated your diary with another piece of content. Awesome!

Well it can be awesome if you can write. However, what do you do if you can't or don't feel confident enough to write to an audience who you fear might know more about the subject than you do! Scary!

And than, humankind discovered the videoblog. How ?

Well, a few years ago in 2004 (this by the way is like a century on the internet) a men
started up a blog about his impending move to another city. Rather than just typing it out on screen he recorded it as a video in an attempt to showcase his creative talents. The rest is history really; his blog took off in a big way. Because of his success, others jumped on the bandwagon to start videoblogs or video diaries: and so the video blogging was born.

A videoblog, as it has become known is now extremely popular being termed as VBlog. This is in no doubt partly due to the advances in technology. Smaller cameras available with more powerful lenses and more memory allowing for larger videos to be created with better quality than you could dream off a few years ago, allowing you to pursue very high quality videoblog activities, even at a professional level. You can even start a videoblog for a profit, if you have the means to study and learn how to do it.

As with most technology advancements these cameras have been around for a couple of years now and the costs have been driven down by the wide variety of types and models available. Good news for you if you want to start a videoblog.

The videoblog craze has no doubt been helped by the advancement of internet connections in recent times with faster and faster connections available. All this has no doubt helped with the growth of video and other media on the internet.

So what do you need to start up a videoblog for yourself? Obviously a video camera of some sort, some people use a mobile phone for short clips although for longer videos it may not hold enough video for your blog. Most cameras come with some kind of video editing software that will do the job needed. If you want to take it to the next level then there are lots of software packages available online. You will need some way to store and show your videos to the world.

The best about setting up, a videoblog is that it can be done virtually for free. Just Google it and you will find numerous free videoblog resources available.
